Booking & Payment
How do I officially book and secure my date?
Once we've settled on a date, location, and session details, I'll send over a booking link with your contract, questionnaire, and payment information.
To officially reserve your date, I'll need your signed contract and a retainer, usually 50% of the total session cost. Your date isn't secured until both are received.
Do you have different photography packages?
Not exactly! Every session is a little different, so I provide custom quotes based on the type of photography, location, number of people, and any additional costs, such as studio rentals or park permits.
A quick session in your backyard is going to look a little different from a longer session at a rented studio. I'll factor everything into your quote so you know what you're paying for.
What's included in the session fee?
Your quote includes the photography session, my complete photo selection and editing process, and any applicable location permits or studio rental fees.
If an unexpected permit fee comes up after I've provided your quote, I'll cover it. I don't think that's a fair surprise to pass along to you.
Prints and albums are purchased separately. For mini sessions, your package includes a set number of edited images, with the option to purchase additional photos.
Every delivered gallery also includes access to a professional print store, and you're always welcome to download your photos and print them wherever you'd like.

How much does family photography cost in Central Massachusetts?
Every session is custom quoted based on the type of photography, location, and any associated fees.

Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes! I offer outdoor and studio mini sessions periodically throughout the year.
Mini sessions are announced through my email newsletter and social media, so those are the best places to find out when new dates become available.

About Studio Joki
What is your photography style?
Dreamy, warm, and full of delight.
I love photos that feel romantic and real at the same time. Natural moments, beautiful light, and just enough guidance to help everyone feel comfortable.
My favorite photos are the ones that take you right back to how a moment felt.
How long have you been a photographer?
I've been taking photos since middle school and have worked professionally in photography for more than a decade.
Over the years, I've photographed everything from products for national catalogs to commercial events, weddings, and family portraits.
Studio Joki officially launched in 2026 as the home for my family and portrait photography business.
Where is Studio Joki located, and do you travel?
I'm based in Millbury, Massachusetts, and photograph families, couples, and individuals throughout the Worcester area and surrounding Central Massachusetts communities.
My standard service area is approximately 10 miles from Millbury. For locations outside that area, additional travel fees may apply.

Can you tag me when you share my photos on social media?
Of course! I'd love to.
You can include your Instagram and Facebook handles in your session questionnaire, and I'll be happy to tag you when I share your photos.

The Session
What happens if it rains?
I keep a close eye on the weather leading up to outdoor sessions, and I'll be in touch if the forecast looks questionable.
A little rain doesn't always mean we have to reschedule. A rainy engagement session can be pretty dreamy, and some kids would happily spend the entire session jumping in muddy puddles.
But if we're talking heavy downpours, lightning, or unsafe conditions, we'll find another date that works for both of us.
Do you help with posing, or is your photography more candid?
Both! I love a good posing prompt, but not necessarily the stiff, hand-on-hip kind.
Sometimes that means asking you to spin around, play freeze tag, or sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Yes, I've asked adults to do this, too.
I'll guide you when needed and create opportunities for natural moments to happen. You don't need to show up knowing what to do in front of the camera.
What should I wear for my photography session?
My biggest recommendation is to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in.
I'm happy to offer suggestions, but I'm not going to insist you wear something that doesn't feel like you.
I have a client who loves wearing black. It's not always the first recommendation you'll see in photography outfit guides, but it's her style, and it works beautifully.
Wear what feels like you. That matters more than following a perfect color palette.
Do you have experience photographing children?
I'd like to think so! 😂
I've worked with kids in some capacity for most of my life, from teaching dance to tutoring elementary school students and photographing families.
I'm also a mom of two boys, which has given me an entirely different appreciation for working with little ones.
I know the Spidey songs. I know the Bluey songs. I can pull out my best Ms. Rachel voice when necessary.
Family sessions don't require perfectly behaved children. We'll play, take breaks, follow their lead, and work with whatever personalities show up that day.
Your Photos
How many photos will I receive?
There's no single number for every session.
For mini sessions, the number of included images is specified in your package. For other sessions, I'll guarantee a minimum number of photos in your contract.
I don't place an arbitrary cap on how many edited photos I deliver. If an image makes the final gallery, it's yours.
A one-hour session often results in around 80 to 100 images, but every session is different.
I'd rather spend a few minutes helping an overwhelmed toddler get comfortable and capture 30 wonderful photos than take hundreds of pictures of a child who isn't enjoying themselves.
Quality over quantity, always.
When will I receive my photos?
For portrait sessions, your finished online gallery will be delivered within two weeks of your session.
Wedding galleries are delivered within four weeks.
I often deliver sooner, but these timelines leave room for unexpected delays. If anything changes, I'll keep you updated.
Do I receive the RAW or unedited photos?
RAW files aren't included or delivered.
You'll receive your professionally edited final images, ready to download, save, and print.
How long will my online gallery be available?
Your gallery will remain available for the foreseeable future.
If I ever need to remove it, I'll give you at least two weeks' notice by email so you have time to download your images.
I always recommend downloading your photos and keeping a backup somewhere safe, whether that's Google Photos, an external hard drive, or both.
What does your editing process look like?
Every photo goes through my hands personally, from choosing the best images to making the final edits.
I use custom Lightroom presets I've developed over years of shooting, then adjust each photo individually for lighting, color, and consistency. No two sessions are edited exactly the same way.
For select images, I'll also use Photoshop to remove distractions, touch up temporary blemishes, or make small adjustments.
Pimples? Those can go. Your freckles and moles? Those stay.
I want your photos to look beautiful while still looking like you.
