The Session That Almost Didn’t Happen
When I put out a call in some Facebook groups looking for recently married couples to help me build my wedding portfolio, I wasn’t expecting the response I got from Marissa. She reached out to let me know that she and Brian weren’t married yet — but they would be in about a week, and they’d love to do something after the wedding. I loved that energy immediately.
So we made a plan. And it worked out better than either of us could have imagined.
Rain on Your Wedding Day
Marissa and Brian got married on a rainy day. And while rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck — I can personally vouch for that, it rained on my wedding day too and I’m just shy of eight years married — it does have a way of cutting certain moments short.
For Marissa, that moment was her veil. She barely got to wear it on her actual wedding day. So when we got together about a week after the wedding, she put it back on, and we made sure she got every single photo she deserved.
I was so honored to give them another hour of wedding coverage and capture what the rain took from them.
Bancroft Tower — Worcester’s Best Kept Secret
If you haven’t been to Bancroft Tower in Worcester, Massachusetts, stop what you are doing and go. It is one of those places that feels completely out of time — a stunning stone tower sitting on a hill in the middle of the city with sweeping views and the kind of architecture that makes every photo look like it belongs in a magazine.
We arrived right as the sun was beginning to set. Warm but not sweltering, clear skies, and the most gorgeous golden light. It was the perfect backdrop for Marissa and her veil and for two people who were still very much in the glow of just getting married.
A Hidden Gem for Worcester Wedding and Portrait Photography
Bancroft Tower is seriously one of my favorite locations in Central Massachusetts for portrait and wedding photography. If you are looking for a unique outdoor location in Worcester for engagement photos, post wedding portraits, or couples photography this is the spot. The architecture, the light, the views — it has everything.
Marissa and Brian were incredible to work with and I am so grateful they said yes to this session. Here’s to eight years of marriage for them and many more. 🤍
