A Personal Location and a Perfect Day

Some shoots feel special before they even begin. This was one of them.

When Christian reached out looking for a maternity photographer his timeline lined up perfectly with peak peony season and I immediately knew exactly where we needed to go. Nicewicz Farm in Bolton, Massachusetts has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad has worked there for years and I have watched this farm grow into something truly special. From the stunning peony fields to the charming little farm stand that so many people drive right past without realizing what they are missing, Nicewicz Farm is one of those hidden gems in Central Massachusetts that deserves so much more attention than it gets.

Getting to collaborate with them for a maternity session during peak bloom was a dream.

Golden Hour at the Peony Farm

We scheduled the session during golden hour and the light delivered in every possible way. The peonies were at their absolute peak, the sky was warm and glowing, and Christian and Ashley were just radiant. Everything about the evening felt effortless and easy.

Ashley is expecting their first baby and the excitement was palpable from the moment we started shooting. First time parents have this energy that is impossible to fake and it shows up beautifully in photos.

A Special Connection

One of my favorite things about this job is the people I get to meet. Christian and Ashley and I bonded over fantasy books during the session — specifically Fourth Wing — and it made the whole experience feel less like a shoot and more like an evening with friends. Those are the sessions I remember.

In Christian’s Own Words

I am so proud of this one that I have to share a bit of what Christian said in his review:

“We had an amazing experience working with Catrina for our maternity session. From the very beginning she was professional, organized, and genuinely invested in making the experience special. She found the perfect location — a beautiful flower farm that looked absolutely stunning in the pictures. She guided us through every detail including the timing and planning of the session which made everything feel easy and stress free.”

He also noted that the photos were delivered ahead of the estimated turnaround time, which is something I always strive for because I know how excited people are to see their images.

“The entire experience exceeded our expectations and we could not be happier with the results.”

That means everything to me. Truly.
